Six years after the launch of the original Ring video doorbell, the Amazon-owned company announced the next generation of its signature product on Wednesday.
The updated version of the home-security technology comes with 1080p HD video, improved night vision and updated motion zones.
Ring also revealed a new solar charger for the updated doorbell, which includes a mounting bracket and built-in solar panels that can keep the doorbell charged around the clock.
“Ring video doorbell is one of our most popular products, and neighbors love the outsized value it provides,” founder Jamie Siminoff said in the blog post.
“Today, we take it to the next level.”Siminoff launched Ring’s original video doorbell in 2014, and the company was acquired by Amazon for more than $1 billion in 2018.
