Apple introduces Smart Battery Case for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max

Apple has introduced new Smart Battery Cases designed for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max cases promise up to 50% longer battery life.
The Smart Battery Case is also compatible with Qi-certified chargers.
The Smart Battery Case is deeply integrated into iOS so you can see your battery status on the iPhone Lock screen and in the Notification Center, making it clear how much charge is left.
All the three battery cases for iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max XR are priced at $129 (Rs.9,270 approx) each and are already on sale through Apple website.

China smartphone shipments reach 98.9 million units, down 3.6% YoY in Q3 2019: IDC

Smartphone shipments in China appear to be improving with a 3.9% decline YoY, up from the 6% decline YoY in Q2 2019, thanks due to HUAWEI’s strong domestic sales. Apple supplier Salcomp buys defunct Nokia Chennai Plant, to invest $300 million in five years

It has been over 5 years since Nokia’s Sriperumbudur plant shut down production due to a tax dispute. Now, Finnish based firm Salcomp, manufacturer of chargers/adapters for mobile phones and other electronics for companies like Apple, has bought the defunct plant for about Rs. Salcomp already operates two units in the Sriperumbudur SEZ zone having close to 7000 employees with the new factory said to add over 10000 jobs. Apple’s components is about 60% in the 1.1 million sq ft plant — and the balance would be for others including Foxconn, Xiaomi, Vivo and OPPO, according to ET report. These decisions add to the larger strategy of Apple in expanding production in India for the local and global markets.

Vodafone Idea has announced that all its postpaid products and services will be exclusively offered to customers under its Vodafone RED brand. Sony Mobile has officially confirmed the list of its smartphones that will get Android 10 update. This includes its flagship smartphones Xperia 1 and Xperia 5, which will get the update next month.
