I’m honestly not that important and while I appreciate so many of you subscribe to this email, by making myself write about more important things than politics and viruses, it helps me recalibrate myself.
If you thought he could do no wrong, you’ll offer up no criticism of things he did wrong.
It should make you realize there is a real truth, real accountability, and a real God in charge of all things with a real plan.
In fact, the cross forces us to abandon a lot of things we want.
The bellyaching, complaining, fighting, and blame of day to day politics matters very little in the grand scheme of things.

I keep dwelling on something one of my seminary professors said a few years ago. He noted there is a theology of cities in scripture and it is not very positive. I mentioned that once on social media and a liberal religion reporter tagged Tim Keller to insist I was wrong and Keller should correct me. Keller took note of it and wound up largely agreeing with me.
